The Scroll Down
Becoming a Bar Mitzvah is a Jewish rite of passage when a child turns 13 years old and is recognized as an adult for purposes of religious obligations and privileges. To mark the occasion, the Bar Mitzvah traditionally is called before the congregation on Shabbat to recite blessings, read from the Torah scroll and other passages of scripture, and lead parts of the prayer service.
Adam will be honored as a Bar Mitzvah on January 18 during the Saturday morning service at our congregation, Temple Rodef Shalom. It is customary for family and friends to share in this simcha (joyous event) with the congregation. That evening, we will come together again for dinner, dancing, and fun at The Barns at Wolf Trap.
